Description:

The Filipino-American Montana Organization (FAMO) is a non-profit 501c3 organization that was founded in 2018 by Estela Fullerton and a group of dedicated friends who shared a passion for helping underprivileged children and giving back to both the Philippines and the local Montana community. The journey of establishing FAMO was not an easy one, as Estela faced challenges and doubts along the way. However, her determination and perseverance led her to create an open and transparent organization.

Before officially launching FAMO, Estela was already sponsoring a school in the Philippines. Encouraged by this experience, she reached out to the Filipino-American community in Montana, specifically in Missoula and Lake County, to rally support for her vision. With the support of the community, FAMO was able to build a strong foundation, elect officers, and apply for a non-profit permit. After a year of waiting, FAMO became a legally recognized non-profit organization, making it the second Filipino-American non-profit in Montana.

Over the years, FAMO has made significant progress in fulfilling its mission. Initially, the organization started by assisting one school, but it has since expanded its reach. Through grants and donations, FAMO has been able to provide school supplies and support to more than 10 schools. The organization firmly believes that no amount is too small to make a difference and that every contribution is appreciated. In addition to supporting education, FAMO has also extended its assistance to its members during medical emergencies. The organization is now expanding its efforts to reach out to children and women shelters, aiming to provide help and support to those in need.

FAMO is dedicated to continuous improvement and aims to become an even better organization. The members are committed to helping more individuals and communities, and they strive to make a positive impact through their various initiatives and programs.
